Since 1983, our customers have trusted in GRP solutions that stand out for their durability, functionality, and technical finesse — because every detail matters.
Our quality control is based on extensive experience, trained attention to detail, and proven workflows. With reliable technology and a strong focus on precision, we closely monitor every stage of production — from goods receipt and manufacturing to final approval.

Founding
KUROTEC was founded in 1983 with a simple yet bold idea: to build a high-quality, customer-focused company specializing in plastic piping systems. The name “Kurotec” is derived from the German word Kunststoffrohrtechnik – plastic pipe technology.
The company’s founder, Mr. Manuel Nunez-Alvarez, started the business without major investments or partners. His vision was to offer a superior product with greater flexibility and customer focus – and that’s how the KUROTEC brand was born. He set out to create a company where quality and people come first.
KUROTEC’s first customer was the chemical group DOW in Stade. This marked the beginning of the company’s development and production of pipes and tanks for the chemical industry. At the time, the company employed just five people.

1993 – 2003: Growth & International Expansion
The period after 1993 marked a phase of active expansion. KUROTEC’s customer base in the chemical industry continued to grow, prompting the modernization of production facilities in Stade, the expansion of design and manufacturing offices, and the establishment of new international partnerships.
KUROTEC evolved from producing individual pipes to developing complex equipment and complete systems. The company embraced the challenges of a new era: products were increasingly delivered as turnkey solutions, supported by comprehensive service offerings.
In 2000, KUROTEC completed its largest project to date in Qatar. By 2002, the production sites of KUROTEC and KTS were merged. At the same time, the company expanded its international presence: Kurotec Polska was founded, and new branches were opened in Bulgaria and Schkopau, Germany.

2003 – 2013: Power & Environmental Projects
KUROTEC firmly established itself as an international company, expanding exports across the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East – including Saudi Arabia.
During this time, the KUROTEC Group held multiple framework agreements with major power plant operators and clients such as E.ON, RWE, and Vattenfall.
The company also took part in environmental initiatives and projects related to sulfur removal. KUROTEC became a trusted supplier for plant engineering companies involved in large-scale power plant projects.

2013 – 2024: Service, Quality & Global Reach
This period is defined by a strong commitment to stability and 24/7 customer service. KUROTEC has grown into a world-class supplier, with over 50% of its production exported. The group now employs more than 250 people.
The focus remains on quality: strict control at every stage, meeting customer requirements, and delivering flexible solutions. KUROTEC continues to invest actively in new technologies and in the development of its people.
The company stays true to its core philosophy: supporting customers, adapting to changing demands, and growing as a team based on trust, respect, and mutual support.

2025 – now: Shaping the Future
Today, KUROTEC exports its products to over 50 countries worldwide and continues to strengthen its international presence. The future of KUROTEC is guided by four key priorities:
-
Maintaining quality as a core strategic principle
-
Pursuing moderate, purposeful growth – without trying to do everything
-
Investing in training, innovative materials, and advanced technologies
-
Strengthening the team by attracting, developing, and retaining skilled professionals
KUROTEC remains a family – where every employee matters and complexity is made simple. This has been our way for over 40 years.

1983 – 1993: Early Growth
In 1985, KUROTEC received its first export order – a major project in Austria. Around the same time, the company began manufacturing pressure vessels, including a hydrogen scrubber with DN 2000, length 15 meters, and 15 bar pressure – a major technological milestone.
KUROTEC grew through close collaboration with its clients: starting with basic GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) constructions, then advancing to multilayer systems and custom applications. Even then, KUROTEC had already earned a reputation as a flexible partner capable of adapting to evolving demands.
In 2000, the company acquired and integrated KTS as an independent subsidiary. KTS worked closely with major chemical companies such as BAYER AG, BASF, and Hoechst AG.
